2. Next, install the required script
3. Once finished, head for Google.
4. Double clicks the Google Logo and a box will appear similar to the figure below.










5. Now, you can type your own text ( letters and space ) and assign different color for each letter.
6. In color edit box, type the numbers: 1 – blue, 2 – red, 3 – yellow, 4 – green or other – random.
7. Click the “Change” button when finished and you will noticed the new Google Logo Text. :D

It can be a nightmare if someone else takes control of your Google Account because all your Google services like Gmail, Orkut, Google Calendar, Blogger, AdSense, Google Docs and even Google Checkout are tied to the same account.

Here are some options suggested by Google Support when your forget the Gmail password or if someone else takes ownership of your Google Account and changes the password:

1. Reset Your Google Account Password:
Type the email address associated with your Google Account or Gmail user name at google.com/accounts/ForgotPasswd– you will receive an email at your secondary email address with a link to reset your Google Account Password. This will not work if the other person has changed your secondary email address or if you no longer have access to that address.

2. For Google Accounts Associated with Gmail:
If you have problems while logging into your Gmail account, you can consider contacting Google byfilling this form.It however requires you to remember the exact date when you created that Gmail account.

3. For Hijacked Google Accounts Not Linked to Gmail:
If your Google Account doesn’t use a Gmail address, contact Google byfilling this form. This approach may help bring back your Google Account if you religiously preserve all your old emails. You will be required to know the exact creation date of your Google Account plus a copy of that original “Google Email Verification” message.It may be slightly tough to get your Google Account back but definitely not impossible if you have the relevant information in your secondary email mailbox.

Alright. After I showed you how to make your XP look like Vista, some people asked me to post a guide to making your XP look like Mac OSX. Leopard, to be precise. There are two ways to accomplish the OSX look: the easy way - with a transformation pack, and the hard way - manually. Step 1: Get a transformation pack.

Step 2: Install
Run the installer and when you get to the following screen, MAKE SURE you check the box Create System Restore Point. This way you can always do a System Restore. Check any other options you want and you’re ready!


Step 3: Enjoy!

3. In the 'save as' name it as lock.bat and click save ! (Save it on Desktop)

Create a log

1. Open Notepad
2. On the very first line, type in ".LOG" (without quotes) then press Enter for a new line

4. Next time when you open the file, notice its contents. Notepad automatically adds a time/date log everytime you open the file.

Text becomes unreadable

1. Open Notepad
2. On the very first line, type in "dont eat the donut" (without quotes) then save and close the file. Note: the file should have only one line of the text above.
3. Now, open the same file. You'll notice the text becomes unreadable squares. (try this with different text with the same format and length).

This trick will show you how to bypass the login prompt in Windows XP with your "local account". Yes, it's only applied for local user accounts.

Most home users would love this trick. It allows you to bypass the login prompt on Windows startup and go straight to your desktop without a login.
This Windows XP feature is pretty cool in case the machine is mostly used by a single user. Is's kindda annoying when you're the only one using the pc and you have to login everytime, isn't it?

Use this trick at your own risks

1. From Desktop, Click on "Start" >> "Run".

Iv'e personally found a dramatic increase in web browsing after clearing the Windows XP DNS cache. To clear it type the following :-

1. Go to Start.
2. Go to Run.
3. Type cmd in it.
4. There type ipconfig/flushdns.
(ALLOW MORE THAN 2 SIMULTANEOUS DOWNLOADS ON IEXPLORER.)
This is to increase the the number of max downloads to 10.
a. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
b. Locate the following key in the registry:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings.
c. On the Edit menu, click Add Value , and then add the following registry values:"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=Dword:0000000a"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=Dword:0000000a.
d. Quit Registry Editor.

8. You can also use this log to see how long someone was on the computer. Just look at the time the computer was turned on and off for that day.

The logon screen saver changes to the screen saver that you specified.

Task Manager is one of the powerful windows tools useful for managing system services, checking system performance, monitoring system activity and also to start or End any particular application.

Access to Windows Task Manager on public computers is considered to be a security threat which makes many system administrators to disable it and thus restrict its access. This way all the major critical system resources can be kept under safety.

So, here is the step-by-step procedure of how it can be done on you PC.

1. Go to Start -->Run... (or use the keyboard shortcut 'Win key+r') and type regedit and press Ok.
This takes you to the registry editor window.

2. From the left pane navigate to the registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

Now, on the right pane right click and choose " New->DWORD value " and name it as DisableTaskMgr and press enter.


Note: If you cannot find System Key under Policies, create it by right clicking on Policies and choosing New -> Key and naming it as System.


3. Edit the DWORD value by double clicking it and changing the value to 1 with hexadecimal mode selected and press OK.


4. Exit registry editor and Restart your PC.

That's it! Now Task Manager is disabled and thus inaccessible.

Again if you want to re-enable Window Task Manager, just delete the New DWORD value just created or modify the value data to 0 from 1 and press OK.

Windows Task Manager also sometimes gets inaccessible due to virus codes. Actually what the virus code automatically does is what we have done above. So next time, when your Windows Task Manager gets disabled due to virus, you can follow the above procedure to re-enable it and thus clean the virus.

This simple registry hack that can disable USB storage access can be particularly helpful in client/server environment to disable access to the USB Ports for a certain group of users.

1. Goto Start-->Run... and type regedit and click OK.



2. From the Registry Editor window that pops-up navigate and click on the registry subkey

3. From the right pane, right-click on Start and select modify. Then change the value data from 3(default) to 4 in hexadecimal mode.

That's it!! USB port access is disabled.
To enable again just change the value data to the default value 3.

Change Yahoo Messenger Title Bar

You can change the text that appears at the very top of the yahoo messenger window by editing the ymsgr.ini file. Find the ymsgr.ini file in Program Files\Yahoo\ and open it. Then at the end, type this:

change YOUR TEXT to whatever you want it to say. Then save the file and close messenger. When you restart messenger you will see your new message.

Remove the Ads from Yahoo Messenger

You know the drill. You start to shut down the computer, you wait a few moments,
and then you see a dialog box asking if you want to kill an application or service that
is running. Instead of prompting you, you can make Windows XP take care of the kill
task automatically. Here's how:
1. Open the Registry Editor.
2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop.
3. Highlight the value AutoEndTasks and change the value to 1.
4. Close the Registry Editor.

If you dual-boot your computer with Windows XP and another operating system, you
see an operating system selection menu on startup. If you typically boot into Windows
XP and not the other operating system, you can speed up the dual-boot timeout value
so that you do not wait so long for the boot process to select your default operating
system and continue with the boot process. The default timeout value is 30 seconds
but you can change this setting to 10. This gives you enough time to select the
alternate operating system if you want but also speeds up the boot process. You can skip this section if you do not use a dual-boot configuration.

Follow these steps:
1. Locate the boot.ini file on your computer. It is a hidden file by default; mine is
located in C:\boot.ini.

You can remove the boot logo that appears when you start Windows XP. This little

The only negative is that if you remove the boot logo, you will also not see any boot

To remove the boot logo, follow these steps:

The PC industry will experience its sharpest unit decline in history, with PC shipments totaling 257 mln units in 2009, an 11.9% decline from 2008, according to Gartner. The latest update to Firefox pushed out to users last night via automatic update addresses 47 bugs and enhancements, according to Mozilla. 17 bugs were marked as “critical” or higher.

Five potential security vulnerabilities were patched including these 3 that were marked as “critical”:

(such as a folder in which one stores media, eg: *.mp3's, *.avi's etc.)
Windows Explorer lags as it reads through each one. Here's how to disable viewing of
unwanted attributes and speed up file browsing:

1. Open Windows Explorer
2. Navigate to the folder which you wish to optimize.
3. In "Details" mode right click the bar at the top which displays the names of the attribute columns.
4. Uncheck any that are unwanted/unneeded.

Explorer will apply your preferences immediately, and longs lists of unnecessary attributes will not be displayed.
Likewise, one may choose to display any information which is regarded as needed, getting more out of Explorer.

When a user shuts down Windows XP, first the system has to kill all services
currently running. Every once in a while the service does not shut down
instantly and windows gives it a change to shut down on its own before it kills it.
This amount of time that windows waits is stored in the system registry.
If you modify this setting, then windows will kill the service earlier. To modify
the setting, follow the directions below:

Start Regedit.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control.
Click on the "Control" Folder.
Select "WaitToKillServiceTimeout"
Right click on it and select Modify.
Set it a value lower than 2000 (Mine is set to 200).

THE FOLLWING STEPS U HAV TO DO:

- open regedit
- browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\wpaevents
- double-click OOBETimer
- remove the 'ca' part from it by pressing HOME and then DEL (on keyboard)
- click OK
- close regedit
- start -> run
- type in: C:\windows\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a
- choose the 2nd option (phone activation)
- click Change product key (at the bottom)
- enter the product key you got from running the Blue List key generator
- press OK
- close the window
- restart your comp
..after restart..
- start -> run
- type in: C:\windows\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a
- verify that it says 'your copy of windows is already activated'
- proceed in installing XP SP1 from http://www.windowsxp.nu

The default speed of the Start Menu is pretty slow, but you can fix that by editing a Registry Key. Fire up the Registry Editor and navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ MenuShowDelay

By default, the value is 400. Change this to a smaller value, such as 0, to speed it up.



Speed up the Start Menu (Part two)

If your confounded by the slow speed of the Start Menu, even after using the tip above, then you might try the following: Navigate to Display Properties then Appearance then Advanced and turn off the option titled Show menu shadow . You will get much better overall performance.
