Facebook Applications: new threats?

If you use Facebook then maybe you installed the application "Photo of The Day," a small module allowing submissions each day a new photo of National Geographic. Well, if so, know that you are trapped!

Indeed, a team of researchers at the University of Foreth-ICS and the Infocomm Research Institute have developed a small ploy to demonstrate the potential dangerousness of applications running on the network. Researchers have voluntarily placed malicious code on the application in question in order to generate queries and saturate an HTTP server. With each click of a mouse, the application returned a petition of 600 kb on the server.
